Newborn Photos That Scream Summer (In the Cutest Way Possible)

Newborn baby posed in a tiny beach chair with sunglasses, beach ball, and ocean backdrop for a summer-themed newborn photo session

If you’re having a summer baby, first of all… bless you. 😂 Second, you have to take advantage of the cutest seasonal setups. Summer newborn sessions are where things get a little more playful, a little more colorful, and honestly… a little more fun. This is your permission to skip the “everything must be neutral and serious” vibe and lean into something that actually feels like your season.

Here are some of my favorite summer-inspired newborn setups that are guaranteed to make people say, “wait stop, that’s adorable.”

☀️ Poolside Baby (But Make It Tiny)

There’s just something about a tiny baby in a pool float that never gets old. It’s bright, it’s playful, and it instantly feels like summer. Think:

  • Mini floaties

  • Sunglasses (for the drama)

  • Bright blues + water textures

This setup is always a favorite for parents who want something a little less traditional and a lot more fun.

🏖 Beach Baby Vibes

No sand in your house, no sunburns, no stress… just the aesthetic. Soft neutrals, beach textures, and simple props can give you that coastal feel without ever leaving the studio. It’s calm, summery, and still timeless enough to hang on your wall.

⚾ Tiny Baseball Fan

Summer and baseball just go together. This setup is especially perfect if your family is into sports (or let’s be honest… if dad requested one thing 😂). It adds personality without feeling over-the-top.

🇺🇸 4th of July Baby

Red, white, and baby. This one is bold, classic, and perfect for July babies. It’s one of those setups that feels festive now but will also be really fun to look back on later.

🦞 Crawfish Boil Baby (Yes, Really)

If you’re from the South, you already get it. This one is quirky, unexpected, and honestly one of those setups people never forget. It’s fun, it’s different, and it feels very “this is our family.”

🎣 Gone Fishin’

This theme is equal parts cozy and creative. Wood tones, fishing details, and soft textures give it a storytelling feel - like your baby just wandered off for a quiet morning by the water.

🌞 Swinging Into Summer

A simple swing + soft greenery = instant summer magic. This setup feels light, fresh, and just a little whimsical without trying too hard.

🐝 Sweet as Honey (Bumblebee Theme)

Tiny bees. That’s it. That’s the pitch. This one is playful and detailed without being overwhelming. Soft yellows, florals, and delicate textures keep it feeling sweet instead of theme-y.

So… Should You Do a Themed Newborn Session?

Short answer: only if it makes you smile. Some parents love a clean, neutral look. Some want a mix of both. Some go all in on tiny pool floats and baseball bats. There’s no right answer here - just what feels like you.
