A Beautiful Outdoor Fall Family & Cake Smash Session at Commons Ford Ranch
Some sessions are just effortless, and this one was one of them. I loved the family’s relaxed, cohesive, and stylish outfit choices. Especially the baby…seriously, the knee-high stockings and chubby thighs are too yummy.
We met at Commons Ford Ranch during peak fall color, when the tall grass turns golden and the late afternoon light makes everything glow. We started with family portraits while everyone was still fresh, then finished with a simple outdoor cake smash for this adorable one-year-old with just the right amount of fall vibes.
Enjoy a few favorites from this sweet evening.
I typically do cake smash sessions in the studio where it’s temperature controlled, bug-free, and easy to clean up, but sometimes you gotta step outside of your comfort zone and just trust the process. This setting was just too picture-perfect to worry about all of that.
Thinking about your own session?
Fall evenings in Austin book quickly because they're some of the best weather of the year for outdoor portraits.
