Baby LaRue || Austin, TX Newborn Photography

Baby LaRue came in to the studio a few weeks ago and totally rocked her session. All 9lbs 12 ounces of sweet, squishy goodness! She gave me so many smiles and even flashed a cute dimple a few times. 😍

Her parents brought in this pretty woodland creature blanket that is her nursery theme.

This was a Petite Newborn session and I typically do about 3 different setups, but I try to add some variety by using different hats and headbands and little props like the stuffed lamb and teddy.

She slept and posed so well for her session so I was able to get a few extra shots to composite in to some digital backgrounds.

Not only was LaRue a dream to work with, her parents were super fun to hang out with. Dad had some crazy idea for a themed shoot and I was so smitten with her that I asked them to bring her back a few days later for a model call. I had a bunch of new props I wanted to use and some new posing tools that I wanted to try out and I was excited to keep shooting those chubby little cheeks. And Dad was so excited he started shopping for props right then and there. 😝

Still just as cute and smiley!

One of the new things I wanted to try out were ‘Baby Mugshots’. These are way harder to do then you would think! Getting an awake newborn to look at the camera is crazy hard. But I love the results. The idea is to do these mugshots in black and white, with no props or headbands or bonnets, to really showcase baby’s expressions and personality. And then the goal is to continue to do mugshots as the baby grows up. Having them in black and white will make them all coordinate throughout the years. I’m really excited to add these to my newborn session workflow and plan to offer Mugshot Mini Sessions for older babies and kiddos.

During the model call we also made Dad’s vision come true. I want to share the images so bad but part of me is worried that the uptight people in the world won’t find the humor in it. 🙄So I’ve decided not to share for now, womp womp. 😒I will say it was hilarious and adorable and I had so much fun doing it though! 😂
